This is an advertisement for a touch wood phone by the japanese mobile phone company NTT DoCoMo. They have built a forest long xylophone in order to play Bach’s ‘Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring’ by dropping a wee wooden ball down the staircase. After the song is played the ball falls on the phone. They have implemented the same concept as they use to build traditional xylophones unlike the xylophones with resonators they use nowadays. Watch the video, the amount of work that might have taken to build the pieces of wood to perfection to get get the exact sound and then ensuring that the ball doesn't fall off is unimaginable!
